This weekend I spent some time upgrading the forum to disallow spambot account registrations, and make the forum threads more easily searchable via google. As well, an unfortunate consequence was the loss of a few users and messages between mid July and present while I was working in unfamiliar territory (an incremental upgrade of the bulletin board software rendered some key part of the forum database invalid, preventing any loading ... all while the current backup I made tripped up the SQL server upon restore attempts. Had to use a previous backup to get things back).
Regardless, since board traffic has been so anemic, I figure this isn't much of an issue. On top of that, last week I made the decision to pare the userlist down to only people who had posted (in order to best filter out the countless dummy accounts that had been created by spambots). If you have registered in the past but never posted, feel free to recreate a new account and get posting.
Let me know if I can be of any help, but don't be shy to register and post ... That is the essence of what we need to start a vibrant community. Without your participation, this place never really works. We're off to a start, but we need more than that. Please tell friends, post on blogs, other forums, and link when you can.
Thanks,
Michael
