D here, 28 year old midwesterner. I am the CFO of a realtively small community bank, and one of that hats I wear is portfolio mamanger of our fixed income portfolio. I have some prior experience trading fixed income. While we won't be going full blown trader mode, we have been and will continue to aggressively expand our portfolio relative to overall asset size. Loan business is godawful ugly, and I've had to educate a few bankers on the fact that they have a phenomenal funding base and can make solid money using their balance sheet to their advantage for some good old fashioned low risk low return banking.

Looking forward to the discussion here...

Hi all.

Like others, I was linked here through accruedinterest's blog. I am a fixed income portfolio manager for a large asset management firm in New York City. I manage upwards of 20bln, which is mostly Agg based. Strategies are largely long only, and long term oriented. This forum could prove to be interesting.

Cheers.

25-yr-old NYC-based trader. Began my career trading long end of the curve municipals and specialized sectors/structures of muni credits, institutional flow desk, for one of the first top tier IB casualties of the credit crisis. Currently in a temporary, fixed income liason position at another insolvent institution while I search for my next opportunity and try to find my way onto another trading desk. Forum has potential, great work so far.

Almost double the age of everyone so far...

Not a bond "trader", but port mgr for a financial institution's $1bb portfolio of largely mortgage and GSE based debt. Call it 20 years or so.

Look forward to contributing and seeing what delveopes here.

Hi Everyone,

I am 35 year old retail investor living in Calabasas, CA (Los Angeles) who does this for fun. My make my daily wage implementing software systems and spend most of my free time on spec trading. I have had a lot of fun shorting the financials with LEAPs since June 2007 and some housing related stuff.

As a non-professional, want to learn the dynamics of the credit markets and test ideas with smart people.

Whats up all?

I'm a 23 year old manager of a small FI portfolio (about 60mm) for a mid-sized asset managment firm in the Philly area. Deal mostly in IG corporates and UST, but trade some futures as hedging instruments. Also trade curve spreads and some swap futures in my spare time.

Hey guys. I just saw the link put up over at acrossthecurve.com. I am a 28 year old options trader. My experience is in the listed fixed income markets. I was a market maker on CBOT for awhile and also traded a prop position in the Japanese Gov't Bond market for a hedge fund out on NYC. I'm currently looking for a new gig.
