Introductions

Postby michael » Tue Apr 21, 2009 7:59 am

Here I figure is a good place to introduce some familiarity (ah, create a sense of community).

I'll start off. I live in San Diego, am 29 yrs old. I trade on the side (have been for a few years), and mostly deal with the futures options on treasuries since I'm horrible at cutting losses. I like defined risk.

Follow up.

I'm 22 years old. Currently residing at Montreal, Canada completing my undergraduate in finance and economics.

I trade the Treasury Bond futures (ZN, ZB) on the CBOT.

Excellent. Welcome. Now the dilemma to get more people to the board and actually contribute. From what I hear today's selloff was dealers prepping for some muni bond issuance. There is so much supply in this market.

What's up, dudes/ladies?

Born/raised and still living in Chicago. I have been trading futures (primarily ZB) for almost seven years, electronically. Before that I worked at the Merc and CBOT during the summers as a college student.

Just a little background. I daytrade-no positions held overnight, and rarely do I have a trade that is open for more than a few minutes tops. I like to look for turns or ride momentum, but regardless I cut my losers short.

I'll periodically post prices where I see S/R.

Hi,

I'm 28 years old born and raised in Chicago. I have traded ten year futures electronically for 6 years full time. Before then I worked on the floor of the cbot and cboe as a clerk for 2 different firms. I trade intraday no overnight positions. My trades typically last from a few seconds to 20 minutes depending on market conditions.

You fellas are serious pros here!

Taking a hiatus from trading because of final examinations. We should start the chat on May 1st. What you all say about that?

Hello. I am 32 and have been analyzing/trading bonds for 10 years. Did munis for a while, now do Corps/MBS/Tsy/Agcy. Trade ~$600mm for a buy-side firm.

Howdy fellas,

Jake here, got liked here by the above poster, accruedint's blog. I work for one of the 19 banks, and let me say, one of the worst out there. I execute trades of between 25mm and 500mm a day as an assistant on a retail brokerage desk. We trade equities, fixed income, futures, options, and a few forex options. Personally I mostly trade options.

Hey everyone,

Glad to see this idea put into action- was linked here too from AccruedInterest's blog. I'm 26, near Chicago and work in the hedge fund arena right now. I'm not on the trading desk -- still on the ops side, but hopefully moving up in the near future. While i've had lots of experience with different fixed income and credit products, I don't consider myself an expert so I will mostly stay on the sidelines right now. Taking level III CFA in June so another reason why you won't hear much from me at least for a while. But looking forward to reading a very interesting forum!
